An assessment explores your child’s attention, activity levels, impulsivity and regulation, alongside their strengths, development and everyday environment. Information from parents and teachers helps us understand experiences across settings.
We consider attention, activity levels and impulsivity alongside strengths, health, learning and daily demands. Recommendations connect the findings with practical support, and any onward referral is discussed according to individual needs.
What to expect
01 · Questionnaires and background information
We gather information about development, education, health and daily functioning. Parent and teacher questionnaires are included where appropriate.
02 · Specialist clinical interview
A structured assessment explores childhood and current experiences, their impact across settings, and other possible explanations. Interviews such as Young DIVA-5 may support the assessment.
03 · Further assessment where helpful
Additional assessment may be suggested if there are questions about learning, cognition or co-occurring needs. Any additional fees are discussed before proceeding.
04 · Feedback and written report
Clinical findings are reviewed against diagnostic criteria. Feedback and a written report explain the outcome and personalised recommendations. Report timings are agreed during booking.

Your questions
Will an assessment always lead to a diagnosis?
No. An assessment explores whether diagnostic criteria are met and considers alternative or co-occurring explanations. Feedback focuses on understanding your profile and identifying useful next steps, whatever the outcome.
Can I discuss adjustments?
Yes. Please share any communication, sensory or processing needs before your appointment so that suitable adjustments can be considered.
Does this include medication?
Medication prescribing or titration is not presented as part of this website’s assessment offer. Please ask about the scope of the service and any onward referral arrangements before booking.
